Inspiring Young Learners Through Reading and Play at SJK(C) Yuk Chih
Learning becomes more meaningful when children are given the opportunity to read, explore and discover for themselves.
The mangoSTEEMS Malaysia team recently had the pleasure of visiting SJK(C) Yuk Chih, where we introduced the children to two engaging educational solutions: mangoSTEEMS Universe (MSU) and Taksa Toys.
It was encouraging to see the children respond with such curiosity and enthusiasm. As they explored the digital reading experience and interacted with hands-on educational toys, the learning environment came alive with questions, ideas and joyful discovery.
Encouraging Children to Explore Reading
mangoSTEEMS Universe is designed to make English reading and learning more approachable and engaging for young learners.
Through its collection of digital stories and learning activities, children can explore English content at their own pace while gradually developing their reading confidence and interest in the language.
During our visit, the children’s positive responses showed us how digital learning resources can turn reading into an experience they are excited to explore—not simply another task they are required to complete.
Discovering Through Hands-On Play
Alongside mangoSTEEMS Universe, the children were also introduced to Taksa Toys.
Hands-on educational play gives children opportunities to observe, experiment, solve problems and express their creativity. Instead of only receiving information, children become active participants in the learning process.
The combination of digital reading and physical play offered the students two different but complementary ways to learn:
- mangoSTEEMS Universe supports English reading, language exposure and independent exploration.
- Taksa Toys encourages hands-on discovery, creativity, critical thinking and problem-solving.
Together, these learning experiences can help children build both foundational knowledge and the confidence to explore new ideas.
Creating Meaningful Learning Experiences
Our visit to SJK(C) Yuk Chih reinforced something we strongly believe: meaningful learning happens when children are encouraged to read, think, create and discover through experiences that capture their interest.
Digital platforms and educational toys are most valuable when they serve a clear learning purpose. By creating opportunities for children to participate actively, educators can nurture not only knowledge, but also curiosity, confidence and a lasting willingness to learn.
We sincerely thank SJK(C) Yuk Chih for the warm welcome and for giving us the opportunity to share mangoSTEEMS Universe and Taksa Toys with the students. Their enthusiasm and positive responses made the visit especially rewarding for our team.
